After the October Revolution and the beginning of the persecution of the Church, the Bolsheviks gave the temple to the renovations “Supreme Church Administration” of Metropolitan Antonin. Later the renovations “Holy Synod” until the closure of the temple in 1931. The rector of the temple in those years was one of the leaders of renovationism, Metropolitan Alexander Vvedensky.
